DIY Poster Frame

Hi there, 2 posts in a row, am I being possessed? No, I just randomly feel like being a crafty gal today.

So, this afternoon I went to print out some photos from several trips with my fam and homies in my local photo printing shop. There, I saw photo frames in various sizes and suddenly I remember that I do want to hang my precious poster on the wall but I don't really want to spend 250k IDR for a frame. I decided to google "DIY frame" and the first result that popped out was "DIY frame using cardboard". I close my Safari and I processed my thoughts. I'll definitely make my own DIY poster frame using unused cardboard.

I finished the DIY poster frame in about 2 hours, my spine was crying and my room is a mess, but I saved up my 250k so I think this is kind of worth the time I spent.
I'll type down all the step-by-step with some photos. Hope this will be quite useful for y'all.

I dedicated this post to my fellow broke-ass friend who wants to save up her money too. this post is for you, bich. Awright, let's jump into the tuts.

step minus 1:

measure the size of your poster and find the cardboard with a proper length accordingly.
for example, my poster is 55cmx42cm so I need to have my cardboard a bit longer than 55cm--60cm. And for the width, I use the same number as the poster, 42cm.

step zero:

prepare your DIY poster frame supplies:
1. a glue
2. 1 piece of gift wrapping paper of your choice
3. a pretty sturdy cardboard
4. a marker
5. a pair of scissors
6. a ruler
7. a thick wire to hang the poster on the wall - 6 cm

flatten your poster using whatever you have

step 1:

I only took the pic of the 3 cm thick cardboard  for the backside because I'm a sloppy mess

cut out 8 pieces of cardboard.
2 cm thickness:             2 front horizontal sides & two front vertical sides (A)
3 or 3,5 cm thickness: 2 back horizontal sides & two back vertical sides  (B)

cut out the gift wrapping paper according to the measurement of the cardboard. you only need to cut 4 pieces for the front sides (A). let the back sides (B) be their ugly selves.

step 2:

glue down the wrapping paper to the (A) part cardboard.

step 3:

before poking a hole as I show in the pic, please be mindful of the poster you're using. is it a landscape poster? or portrait poster?
if it is a landscape poster, poke a hole in the longer piece of cardboard.
a portrait poster? poke a hole in the shorter piece of the cardboard!

for portrait poster

for landscape poster
I messed up so I have two versions of these lmao,,

after you poke holes in the cardboard, loop the thick wire like so:

and glue it down on the back using black sticky tape or transparent or whatever sticky tape of your choice, like so:

step 4:

glue down (B) parts to the back of the poster.
(!) make sure to leave enough space for (A) parts to stick on.

step 5:

ta-dah. make sure you do it just like I did in the photo

glue down the (A) parts like so

finished? No! Don't you think those edges are freaking ugly? we don't want those in this household.

last steps:

cut out 4 pieces of leftover wrapping paper to cover those ugly edges

do it like so, I don't even remember how I wrap it, freestyle time? lmao.

now it's less ugly

done! huzzah. I really hope you learn things from this step-by-step though? do your best! clean your mess after, haha. good luck!

peace out.

A very helpful guide to enjoy a pack of Sriracha Samyang ramen

Do you have that kind of day where you just want a pack of noodle out of nowhere? No? Just me? Ok.
Nobody asked for this, but I will tell you how to cook Sriracha Samyang ramen as if actually there were any people in this age that couldn't cook noodle.

What is a 'Sriracha Samyang ramen' you ask? Since I'm a kind lady, I shall explain it to y'all.
According to the know-it-all legend, Wikipedia, Sriracha is a type of hot sauce or chilli sauce made from chilli peppers paste, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt. It tastes spicy and sour.
Samyang is a famous brand of ramen, ramyeon to be exact since this product is originally made in Korea. As far as I know, people in my country loves this brand because people here love spicy foods, Samyang specialized in producing spicy ramens.

Let's jump right into the How do I cook this pack of ramen, I'm starving! step-by-step

First of all, step zero: you have to order the ramen from somewhere.
go buy the ramen online and in a few days you could cook it according to my how-to that I'll explain further in this post. the ramen looks like this:

step one:

boil a pot of water. (duh) how many ml of water did I use? I don't know, use your gut.
the moment the water starting to bubbling hot, throw in your chunk of ramen in it. Meanwhile, do the next step

step two:

Line up the sauce and flake and take a photo of it. JK. Pour the sauce (red package) into your bowl and sprinkle the flake (green package) into the noodle you're cooking.

I'd say don't stir the boiling noodle because it'll mess up the flakes above it and it'll be a pain in the arse to strain the flakes later. Let them be! Until they're soft, fluffy and ready to eat.

step three:

strain the gooey yellow water, you don't want them inside your bods. strain them dry. be careful not to drop your noods into the sink.

step four:

drop it like it's hot into your bowl, soak your used pot with water so you can wash it later if you're a lazy arse like me.

step five:

stir it using your chopsticks, fork, spoon, knife or whatever it is, just don't use your bare hand. it's still hot, what is wrong with you!
stir it well until it's perfectly coated with the black red-ish sauce that smells dangerous.

step six:

I know, I know you're so ready to eat your noods, but NO!! throw the trash into your trashbin first! we might be lazy arses, but we ain't no dirty arses!

step seven:

put your chopsticks or whatever utensils you're using on your preferable side, right if you're a rightie like me, or left if you're a leftie.

step nothing: just eat it. it tastes pretty good in my opinion. not over the top spicy or anything. after that, make sure to wash your bowl and the soaked pot!

that's all. you're welcome. I know, right? sometimes cooking noodle can be pretty hard. I'm so helpful, aren't I. hahaha. adios!
